Macedonian director Ana Bateva of the play “Natasha’s dream” is coming to Prishtina again with the cast from Bulgaria, to participate in PITF 2020.

Ana Bateva studied theater directing at the Faculty of Arts at the National Academy of Theater and Film “Kr. Sarafov ” – NATFA in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Even though young in age, Macedonian director Bateva has been rewarded for her performances at many international theater festivals. She received a number of awards such as: Best Director, Best Performance, Theater Innovation, etc. Now, she comes to the “Prishtina International Theater Festival” to participate in the competitive program, where 4 plays compete in total.

PITF 2020 starts its competitive program this Saturday with the play “Natasha’s dream” from Bulgaria.

The play by Yaroslava Pulinovich is a monodrama played by Polya Yardanova, directed by Ana Bateva and music by Stefan Zdraveski.
The play speaks about Natasha, who is 16 years old and has only one dream. Natasha smokes, drinks and loves chocolate candy. She often gets in fights and doesn’t like to read books. Sometimes you will hear her swear, but never complain. However, all these facts are not a reason for her dream not to become a reality. She just fell in love for the first time and will uncompromisingly try to fight for … him. Because Natasha is combative and she just fights for justice. And while for some Natasha is a nice person, for others she is rude. Because actually she is a result of poor upbringing that leads to
nothing but aggressive behavior and rude language in line with the laws of the streets.

The play starts at 16:30 in the AAB Chamber Theater.

Welcome!

Dear friends of Prishtina International Theater Festival (PITF),

After the success of the first three editions of PITF, we, the team of the only International Theater Festival in our country, are full of enthusiasm that the 4th edition of #PITF2020, will be even more special.

However, the Sars-COV2 virus is unfortunately still a present threat worldwide. The consequences of almost a year of its presence are being felt everywhere; in health, economy, education, sports, and also in culture.

As such, despite our best efforts and preparations to hold the fourth edition of PITF during the summer season, when we would have had more time to display the character of cultural diplomacy of our festival, we could not do so.

Regretfully, we were unable to bring many beautiful and unique performances from all over the world that have applied to partake; such as the play from the United States, Argentina, Spain, Germany, Italy, and Greece, among many others!

Looking towards the better days to come, we promise you that we will transform the upcoming editions into an identifiable brand that not only our institution, but the entire country can be proud of!

Special thanks go to the theatre ensembles from Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, and Kosovo for their willingness to participate in this symbolic edition of #PITF2020.

Under strict security measures that ensure the health of the participants, the fourth edition of PITF will be held from December 19-23, 2020 in both “Faruk Begolli” theatres of AAB College.

We welcome you all!

The show goes on.
